A 2-day mega conference on Leadership and Communication held under the aegis of Toastmasters International and co-sponsored by Kuwait Investment Company was successfully held on May 11th and 12th at the Symphony hotel here in Kuwait.
More than 300 members of Toastmasters International from Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait attended the conference known as the District 20 Toastmasters Annual Conference (D20TAC) which included speech contests and workshops from world renowned speakers. The contests were held in four categories including Humorous speech, Table Topics speech, Evaluation speech and International speech contests, while the workshops were held by speakers such as Pres Vasilev, the 2013 World Champion of Public Speaking; Paddy Kennedy, a professional speaker and trainer, speech coach, leadership coach, voice coach, and accent reduction teacher; Yasser Shaker, Inspirational Speaker, Writer, and Serial Entrepreneur; and Jassim Hasan, a Management Consultant & Corporate Trainer.
Dr. Adel Al Yousifi the D20TAC Chair who has been a TI member for the last 15 years applauded the organizing teams for the successful organization of the event. "Kuwait was happy to host candidates from Qatar and Bahrain and showcase a high quality event for the benefit of Toastmasters," Dr. Adel said.
Distinguished Toastmaster Musaddik Peshimam the D20TAC Vice-Chair said that organizing this event under the umbrella of Toastmasters was an enlightening experience. "It served as a laboratory of learning communication skills, organizing and planning of an event, meeting the expectation of the District leaders amidst a kaleidoscope of diverse nationality, ethnicity, culture and professions. It was an example of unity in diversity and an opportunity to rise beyond boundaries – which was the tagline of the event," DTM Musaddik elaborated.
