Kuwait Investment Company (KIC) organized its annual seminar yesterday under the theme "2017 Macro Outlook & Technology Prospects", with participation by experts and officers of Candriam Investment Group.
KIC said during a press conference that the Seminar addressed the events of the current year and expectations for the coming year in addition to investment trends in the major countries, foremost among which was the accelerating growth of the technology sector in the USA, Europe and Asia, represented by companies involved in the manufacture of robots used in commercial, industrial and service sectors to ensure the progress of procedures and operations by automated means, accurately and with a minimum of errors.
Kuwait Investment Company is the first local company which sheds light, at the local level, on the globally promising investment sector which is considered highly important in the world's major countries and which will attract considerable attention from investors in the coming years for there is an increasing number of listed companies specialized in robotics and growing at remarkably high rates, for experts believe that investing in such companies reduces fluctuations of the values of investment portfolios. The seminar reviewed the methods of investing in robotics technology, its impact on commerce, and its role in the stock market.
The company called attention to the theme of the seminar, asserting the need to minimize the decision taking time and to seek to invest in light of strongly sustainable trends on the long run, while stressing the need for investors to possess technology and financial skills.
KIC emphasized that it always seeks to provide the best and latest to investors by offering investment tools and products through its local and global funds and portfolios or through increasing the awareness of investors on an on-going basis. The company emphasized that the technology sector will most probably have a share in the company's future trends in establishing an investment portfolio for the sector whenever circumstances are favorable in this regard to strengthen its investment portfolio with a view to achieving good returns to investors in the company.

The seminar was followed by discussions and questions were submitted on the subjects addressed at the Seminar by Candriam's experts. The seminar was most critical because it was held only eight days before the US elections and a short time before the end of the year, particularly since the speakers addressed several themes including the events of the current year, the impact of electing the 58th US president on global economic conditions, the consequences of BREXIT and the growth of the Chinese economy during 2016 despite expectations of deflation.
